Application Guide

1. Complete thorough dry nail prep — push back the cuticle, remove all non-living tissue with a sharp cuticle tool and nippers if needed. Shape the free edge with a 240 grit zebra file, then use the same file (not a buffer) to lightly etch the nail surface. Apply Magpie Prep & Dehydrate to a lint-free wipe and scrub the nail plate, sidewalls and underneath the free edge thoroughly — any trace of dust, oil or dead skin left behind will cause lifting.
2. For the first layer, apply Build It thinly as you would a base coat, sealing every free edge, then cure for 60 seconds under a Magpie Gel Lamp. You can substitute this step with any preferred Magpie Base. Keep product off the cuticle area and sidewalls, using the Magpie Sir tool to clean up if needed.
3. Apply a thin layer of Build It without curing — this acts as a 'slip' layer that helps the next layer move into place. Place a larger bead of gel at the apex, use the brush to position it neatly around the cuticle without touching skin, then feather the remainder down towards the free edge. Repeat with as many structural layers as the nail requires.
4. Use Magpie Prep and Dehydrate to remove the inhibition layer, using a fresh wipe for each hand. File and buff to refine if needed, then apply your chosen Gel Colour, top coat and cuticle oil.

• If the product feels like it's moving more quickly than you're used to since the formulation update, work one nail at a time and cure between nails for better control.
