Give Me Strength+ surpasses our standard Give Me Strength formula, providing superior adhesion. It’s perfect for short to medium-length nails, whether you need a strengthening overlay or a short extension service.
GMS+ NUDIST 3 WEEK WEAR
This HEMA-free product is simple to soak off or infill. Available in eight shades, including a clear option perfect for crystal-clear encapsulation. GMS+ is renowned for its remarkable durability, lasting up to four weeks without chipping or lifting. It features quick self-leveling capabilities and has a thinner viscosity compared to builder gels.
GMS+ BARE FOUR WEEK WEAR
Be mindful of your application thickness; applying too much can cause flooding. This product is specifically designed for nails that require less structure and bulk. Apply in thin layers using small micro beads. To secure the product after placing your micro bead, either flash cure or fully cure each nail individually. During flash curing, ensure you adhere to the full 10 seconds; otherwise, you may encounter wrinkles or pimples on the surface.

At Magpie, we advocate for prescriptive manicures. Give Me Strength+ is an excellent addition to our range, offering extra strength without bulk and outstanding durability and adhesion.

APPLICATION STEPS
• Complete thorough dry nail prep.
• Scrub with Magpie Prep & Dehydrate liquid.
• Apply a thin base layer of GMS+ and cure for 60 seconds.
• The second coat can be applied slightly thicker with a very small bead to create natural structure or kept thinner. When applying your small bead apply WITH or WITHOUT slip layer for faster or slower work time.
• Cure for 60 seconds.
• Finish file if required. Apply chosen gel colour or top coat and finish.

LET’S TALK ABOUT NAIL FILES
We have a range of different GRIT NAIL FILES to choose from at Magpie, and we recommend using each grit for a different part of your service. The higher the grit number is on your file, the bigger the abrasive particles on the file are. Remember, no pressure should ever be applied when using a nail file, the abrasive particles should do the work for you. If you are finding you need to apply pressure, this means your file is blunt and you need to use a new one.
We ONLY recommend using a 240 GRIT zebra file on the natural nail as part of our nail preparation routine. One stoke on each section of the natural nail is enough to prepare the surface of the nail so our nail systems can adhere perfectly. If any higher grit is used to prep the natural nail, this can cause damage to the nail plate by removing the some of the upper layers of the nail plate, which can result in excessive thinning of the nail plate and prevent nail enhancements from lasting in the future.
Our expert leading industry scientist, Doug Schoon, states the following comments in an article which you can read by clicking here,
‘In my opinion, the natural nail can be properly prepared using a 240 grit.’
‘Rather than take the time to prepare the nail plate properly, some choose to do their nail prep work with a 180 grit file. This will remove surface oils along with a few of the upper layers of the nail plate. It can result in excessive thinning of the nail plate.’
’Anything lower than 180 grit is risky business when used on the natural nail plate. It is very likely to lead to excessive damage. In my view, the only reason for using grits lower than 180 is to reduce the thickness of the existing nail coatings for quicker solvent removal.’
Our 240 BUFFER should be used to lightly refine nail systems. The buffers texture is slightly too smooth to prep the natural nail with, it must be a 240 ZEBRA file which is used to prep the natural nail.
We only recommend using our 180 grit zebra and buffer files to refine nail enhancements. There is no need to use 180 grit files on the natural nail when preparing for a Magpie manicure using any of our systems.
Our 150 and 100 grit files should only be used to debulk enhancements during maintenance or removal services. We would never recommend using these (no matter how gently) on the natural nails.
Our priority has, and always will be the health of natural nails. This is why ALL of our products are manufactured at such a high standard and we would never recommend using anything harsher than a 240 grit nail file to prep the natural nail with.

APPLICATION STEPS
Step 1. Apply VELVET TOP COAT in an even layer and cure for 30 seconds.
Step 2. Use the GLITTER APPLICATOR brush or a SPONGE TOOL to generously apply the pigment to the nail. Once applied return to the lamp for a further 30s for full cure.
TIP: For a more intense coverage using the pigments you can apply into the tacky layer of your chosen base colour. Apply with a dabbing motion using your GLITTER APPLICATOR brush.
Step 3. File the free edge using a 240 grit file. Dust excess using the SOFT DUSTER brush.
Step 4. Encapsulate using a layer of CLEAR GET A GRIP or CLEAR GIVE ME STRENGTH. Cure for 60 seconds.
Step 5. Finish with your favourite top coat and cure.
TIP: If the blend isn’t flawless enough, add a layer of a milky white gel to soften or add shimmer using one of our sparkly top coats.
BUILT IT™️ QUESTION & ANSWERS
WHAT IS BUILD IT?
BUILD IT is a baseless builder gel which is available in ten beautiful shades. It can be applied in 1-3 structured layers to create incredibly strong short-medium length overlays and extensions. Build It has been designed to have an effortless self level formula. Build it can be used as a thin base layer or another Magpie base coat can be applied before Build It if technicians prefer.
IS BUILD IT HEMA FREE?
YES! Build It is HEMA, IBOA, IBOMA & DI-HEMA free, Vegan Friendly & Cruelty free.
WHICH CLIENTS ARE SUITABLE TO WEAR BUILD IT?
BUILD IT is a very versatile product. It will suit many. It is perfect for clients who are looking to strengthen their nails with a natural looking overlay or extensions. Clients can have Build It soaked off or infilled. Gel colours and our other art lines can be applied on top of Build It enhancements or they can simply be top coated.
WHAT ARE THE DIFFERENCES BETWEEN BUILD ME UP AND BUILD IT?
Build Me Up is a harder gel system than Build It, which means it can crack and chip if it is not applied in 2-3 structured layers. Build It is slightly softer so can be applied in 1 structured layer without cracking. We recommend infilling Build Me Up however Build it is excellent for soaking off or infilling.
CAN YOU INFILL BMU USING BUILD IT?
YES you can. BUILD ME UP is slightly harder which means BUILD IT can go on top without any issues.
WHAT ARE THE DIFFERENCES BETWEEN GIVE ME STRENGTH AND BUILD IT?
Build It is thicker in consistency and stronger than Give Me Strength. Give Me Strength can be applied in single layers to add strength to natural nails or applied in structured slip layers. We recommend applying Build It in 1-3 structured slip layers. Both can be infilled or soaked off. Some clients’ natural nails are too flexible or long for a structure gel like Give Me Strength – when they put pressure on their nails this can result in pocket lifting. Therefore by using a stronger product like Build It instead of Give Me Strength for this particular clients nails, the flexibility is reduced and pocket lifting is prevented.
CAN GIVE ME STRENGTH BE INFILLED USING BUILT IT?
BUILD IT is a stronger product than GIVE ME STRENGTH so we would recommend soaking off GMS or filing it down to the base layer before applying.
DOES BUILD IT NEED A SEPARATE BASE COAT?
BUILD IT is a baseless system. Make sure to apply the first layer as you would a base coat, nice and thin making sure to seal every free edge and cure for 60 seconds.If preferred BUILD IT can also be used alongside any Magpie Base.
WHAT IS THE CONSISTENCY LIKE?
The consistency of BUILD IT is not too thick, but not too thin that it runs into the side walls. It holds shape perfectly during application whilst self leveling effortlessly. Please check out our recent application reel by clicking here where you can hopefully see this.
